This is the Sport Building (Palazzetto
dello Sport) of Colfelice (Frosinone): a new polyvalent sport
structure to serve the local community and the towns and villages of
the area. The plan, designed by architects Antonio Abbate and Mario
Morganti and - for the technical devices – by ing. Franco
Serrecchia and realised by the Impresa Ercole Capogna, represents
the result of the engagement and the work of the Public
Administration of Colfelice in order to favour the development, at
local and territorial level, of sport, recreational and cultural
activities.
The Palazzetto has been
planned so as to permit the development of sport events regulated by
C.O.N.I. and other events of recreational, cultural and social
character.
The main space is destined
essentially to sport activities (m. 37x23), other areas are reserved
to athletes and the public, while some complementary areas are used
for heating equipment and depots.
The main entrance is placed
on the south-west forehead the building. The total capacity of
spectators varies from a minimum of 225 to a maximum of 725. The
existing Town Hall constitutes the main building nucleus around
which there are the civic centre and the public services.
The main pedestrian access to
the Palazzetto is characterised by the presence of an Arch showing
the beginning before the square of the Town Hall. The open space in
front of the south-east facade of the Palazzetto is pointed out by
the presence of seven pulling in steel braces.
The definitive plan of the
area includes: parking zone, with access from Viale della Repubblica
(corner of Via Guardiola) secondary pedestrian distance, joining Via
Guardiola with the main entrance of the Palazzetto equipped in the
open, destined space to shows and performances, with one public
capacity of 250 places green equipped
